1. The European Pallet (EPAL 1 / EUR 1)

The standard European pallet measures 1200 mm long x 800 mm wide x 144 mm high. These dimensions are engineered to fit European rail networks and truck sizes. An empty pallet weighs 20 to 25 kg and consists of 11 wooden boards and 9 wooden blocks fastened with 78 spiral steel nails.

  • Dynamic load (in motion): 1,500 kg (1.5 tons).
  • Static load (fixed storage): 4,000 kg for the Euro design (up to 5,500 kg in 120x120 heavy designs) — per the certified factory table.
  • High-rack load: 1,000 kg maximum.

2. The American Standard Pallet (GMA)

The dominant standard pallet in North America and the Middle East measures 1219 mm x 1016 mm (48 x 40 inches). It offers 25% more surface area than the Euro pallet (1.23 vs 0.96 square meters), giving superior stability for heavy and general industrial loads.

  • Dynamic load: 1,134 to 2,087 kg.
  • Static load: 2,268 to 3,402 kg.

3. The Six ISO 6780 Approved Classifications
