How Chemical Fumigation is Executed

The chemical fumigation process follows strict protocols to ensure complete safety and pest eradication:

  • Enclosure & Sealing: The wood pallets are stacked and covered with gas-tight tarpaulins, completely sealed from the outside environment.
  • Gas Injection: Methyl Bromide gas is injected at precise dosage levels determined by temperature and timber thickness.
  • Exposure Period: The pallets remain exposed to the gas at a constant concentration for at least 24 continuous hours.
  • Aeration: The enclosure is carefully opened to let the gas dissipate safely before workers handle the wood.
